The modern architectural design by Russ Treloar provided an opportunity to envelope the residence and ground the structure to the site. A conscious decision to compartmentalize the landscape enabled the creation of a progression of garden sections. The address and entrances are more structured and formal, designed to emphasize and reinforce the structural geometry of the residence. As you move through the landscape and further away from the residence a less structured garden acts as a juxtaposition to the residence, and is intended to integrate with the surroundings. A simple palette of plant material and colour has linkage to traditional as well as contemporary gardens. This again was deliberate and intended to assimilate structure, site and community.
